Here i have found a gorgeous wrapping paper print by Petra Boase. I love how it looks like fabric due to the colour and pattern. I have never really seen any wrapping paper like this and i think this makes it very unique.

I absolutely love these penguin decorations by Laura long. I like how she uses wool for the bodies and fabric for the wings. I think she has done a really nice job of making the penguins come to life. They would look perfect on a Christmas tree.

I found these gorgeous gift boxes on the paperchase website. They could also be used as storage boxes as they are so well made and sturdy. The colours are beautiful which matches the design on the boxes. They come in a variety of sizes so can be used for almost everything.

Fashion

I came across this stunning dress designed by Mary Katrantzou. I love the use of colours as I think they working beautify together. The use of 3D elements makes the dress come to life and makes it very unique. The ways the dress falls looks as though it changes the shape of the female body. Close up views show the texture of the fabric as it almost looks metallic. The back of the dress is different to the front. it has the same colours but the pattern is slightly different. I think this makes the dress more interesting as it is different from all angles.

Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair

On Friday 10th of October i visited the Great Northern Contemporary Craft fair in Manchester. The visit gave me a lot of inspiration into different types of designer makers and the different products can be made. There were a lot of fantastic makers who have really inspired me.
My favourite company from the day was Home Front Vintage. The story behind their products inspired me to do  research to find out more about it. Home Front Vintage recreates escape and evasion silk maps that were given out in WW2. They would sew them inside the lining of their uniforms so that if they found themselves in danger they could escape. I love how she uses this story to create unique products. I also like how not every thing has the same pattern as they are all made from different style maps. I love the colour scheme as it looks very old to relate to the WW2 story. However i think that the bright blue makes it look quite modern. All photos were taken by me.  http://www.homefrontvintage.co.uk/products

3D Drawings

For my first project I have been creating different 2D and 3D drawings based around different themes. My first theme was water and land. I looked into flowers and how I could create my 2D and 3D designs.

These are the flowers that I looked at to show how the flower was constructed.

These are my finished 3D products.
